Toyota, with the help of BMF Mediaunveiled their new range of cars at The Garage this past week during the New York International Auto Show. Featured among the lineup was the new RAV4 and Corolla Hatchback as well as the innovative developments such as the i-TRIL and the HSR. The i-TRIL, making its world premier at the 2017 Geneva motor show, is a concept that could be a viable option to other motor vehicles, while the HSR is a Human Support Robot that can do tasks such as fetching options while avoiding obstructions.
One of the best aspects of this upscale urban venue is its capability to easily load-in and showcase multiple vehicles. With over 6,700 SF, concrete floors, lofty ceilings, renovated restrooms, and additional back of house and photo studio spaces, this venue is the perfect environment for an event with such a large scale build-out.
Among the guests during this "Team Toyota" event were Olympians Gus Kenworthy, Steven Nyman, Ted Ligety, Chloe Kim, Louie Vito, and Amy Purdy along with Paralympians Evan Strong, Rico Roman and Alana Nichols. EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW
MIKE ZIMET | MIKE ZIMET PROTECTIVE SERVICES

When you are handling security for major events, how do you prepare?
Preparation for an event is all about the 'advance' - visiting the event site to determine all access points, VIP areas, where talent arrivals will take place (red carpet on sidewalk where the public can view, or inside the venue) - you look at all logistics to create a protective game plan to help determine number of agents and anything else to put an event on 'lock down.'

What is the best course of action when someone crashes a party?
If you take proper tactical steps, there's much less of a chance crashers will enter a site. It's called proactive protection - keeping a potential problem out before it becomes a problem inside. We always do 'sweeps' of an event before it starts to spot any person inside not authorized to be there - we also are on the lookout for any persons just standing around once an event begins. If they're not credentialed or sitting at an assigned table, we will ask them to ID themselves or where they're sitting, then send them back to registration to verify they actually belong.

You do security for VIP clientele such as Bernie Sanders. Do you enjoy working more with individual clients or large scale events with hundreds of guests?
Both types of protection present different challenges. I get lots of satisfaction from personal protection because I'm responsible for the comfort and safety of high profile people, and there's a certain tactical approach to making sure nothing goes wrong - but there's also a great reward in creating a game plan and developing protective measures for a major event then seeing that plan executed without incident.
