REEBOK | 201 MULBERRY

Reebok hosted its Fall/Winter Press Preview this week at 201 Mulberry. The brand transformed our white box space with custom branding and zen decor elements. This set the stage for Mndfll to lead attendees through a guided meditation session to kick off the day. Following came a day of appointments with the press to view Reebok's soon to be launched collection. Crossfit Guru Kenny Santucci led an intense evening workout to wrap the event. Under the #bemorehuman campaign, which launched in 2015, Reebok continuously aims to inspire their clients to not only take care of the body but also the mind. Reebok's new products this season challenge people to slow their mind and to reflect and refocus. A special thanks to our friends at Mixed Greens Event Design for transforming the space so beautifully.

Saturday afternoon, PCS high schoolers adorned masks and dressed to the nines for their annual prom. Hosted in The Gallery Bar, the school's planning committee alongside our on-site AV team, transformed the venue into a Masquerade Ball. Students were treated to a mix of Top 40 hits and saucy song selections that brought everyone to the dance floor. Phantom of the Opera even played on a loop behind the bar for added affect. It was a fun filled evening at (Le) Poisson Rouge for chaperones and attendees alike.

DJ SPOTLIGHT

DJ KYRA CARUSO

Get to know DJ Kyra Caruso, and look out for her in London, where she will be spinning at the Ace Hotel London on Tuesday, May 23rd.

What is your background and what inspired you to become a DJ?
I am originally from Vienna, Austria with Austrian/Mexican roots. I started working in the music industry right out of high school where I promoted Hip Hop parties and interned for record labels (Loud Records, Epic Records and Axis Music Group) in NY and Philly. In my mid-twenties I went on to work for Universal Music Group for five years, where I worked in International Marketing & Promotions for Motown, Republic, SRC and Cash Money Records.  Afterwards, I went left field and worked on a jazz project and toured with will.i.am.

Since music has always been my number one love (my stepfather is a musician), I really wanted to share my favorite tunes with others. I first began making a lot of mix-tapes for friends and subsequently, in my early twenties, I started DJing (I dated a house DJ from NY at that time, which inspired me) but didn’t get serious until my mid/late twenties.

What's your go-to song guaranteed to get a crowd on the dance floor?
My go-to songs are classics - such as Prince’s "I Wanna Be Your Lover” or “Kiss," Bowie’s "Let’s Dance,” MJ, Marvin Gaye, Snoop is a crowd pleaser, or as of lately, some Rihanna or Drake.

Where is the most unusual place you've performed?
An impromptu set in Oaxaca, Mexico at my friends How & Nosm’s art opening. How & Nosm are acclaimed graffiti artists out of NY.

What three words would you use to describe your music style?
Classic, positive, and feminine.

Aside from creating music, what are your other passions?
My other passion is my work as a birth doula and future midwife. I am humbled to be able to support women and their families throughout the most life-changing event - the arrival of their child/children. I found my love supporting women when I slowly moved away from the industry portion of music.

If you could play for anyone, anywhere who and where would it be?
I would like to tour with an artist I admire - open up for him/her. I really respect Raphael Saadiq as a musician, producer, and performer. I’d love to go on the road with him…. of course there are many other musicians/singers I admire.

What is next for your career?
Staying busy and sharing good vibes with my audiences and finishing my masters in midwifery.
