CLARKS SHOES | 201 MULBERRY

C + J Clark America Inc. hosted their Spring 2017 Press Day at 201 Mulberry to launch their Evolved Nature collection. Producers staged a temporary showroom for the brand at our convenient Nolita location, and used eye-catching visuals mounted in LED lightboxes for decorative branding. After a day of editor appointments, the event transitioned into an evening cocktail party where guests raised a glass to toast the brand and end the day on a high note.

SWISH PRIDE| (LE) POISSON ROUGE
Swish Pride hosted their Songs in the Key of Equality concert at (Le) Poisson Rouge last week to inspire support for the LGBT community. Guests were treated to an evening filled with performances by artists such as Kevin Smith Kirkwood, Karen Mason, Natalie Joy Johnson, Molly Tynes, and Judy Kuhn, amongst others. The evening's proceeds support the Swish Alley Fund, an organization founded three years ago at The Stonewall Community Foundation to support programs and organizations that engage straight allies who fight for LGBT equality. The night inspired the crowd to rise together and join Swish's mission.

MAD MARJ | BAREFOOT ON THE BEACH

Last week, Palm Beach glitterati attended the 2017 Barefoot on the Beach After Party at The Breakers, with a special performance by DJ Mad Marj. The annual event commenced poolside with dinner and an auction before transitioning to the neon-lit Venetian Ballroom. Guests of the 'all white party' became part of the neon kaleidoscope decor that marked the occasion and they danced into the night with Mad Marj's tantalizing tunes. The event raised money to support the initiatives of The Boys and Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County. Many thanks to Capehart Photography for capturing this exciting evening and this beautiful picture of DJ Mad Marj in action.

MEET DJ LARA GERIN

Welcome our newest edition to The Kagency Talent Roster, Lara Gerin. Lara first made a name for herself as a model, then later embraced her passion for fashion and became a stylist. Now a globetrotting DJ, Lara applies her innovative approach to styling to her latest passion, music curating. We caught up with Lara recently to get the inside scoop.

What inspired you to become a DJ?
My whole childhood was filled with music references, my cousin was always djing at home for himself and I would sit under the table to listen and feel the vibe. That's how I became interested in music. Then later as an adult working as a stylist, clients would always ask me to do a playlist for their shoots or ask my opinion for their soundtrack. I started professionally djing in 2009, first for friends' fashion launches and then expanded from there.

What's your go-to song guaranteed to get a crowd on the dance floor?
I like to mix different kinds of bounces depending on the style I'm playing (House, Deep House, Hip Hop or Dancehall) and make it a sexy vibe. I also always find a time to mix in some of my Brazilian tunes to give it a little twist. It always works well on the dance floor.

Aside from creating music, what are your other passions?
I love my work as a stylist. It is a different way to expand my creativity. Also, I love to go hear my DJ friends perform and dance all night long. That's my greatest passion.

Where is the most unusual place you've performed?
In Saint Tropez, in this amazing Villa for a friend's 50th birthday. It had an amazing view and limited to only a few, special people.

Keep up with Lara on her Instagram, and her Webpage.
