ON THE RADAR

VLONE x NIKE | THE GARAGE

Hundreds of guests lined up outside of The Garage to celebrate VLONE's collaboration with Nike and their New York Fashion Week pop-up shop in Harlem. Since their December announcement, the companies have been quietly innovating products, building the anticipation for a grand reveal during NYFW. Virgil Abloh and No Vacancy Inn kept the party pumping and VLONE founder, A$AP Bari, and most of the A$AP Mob, took to the stage to ignite the party. Our friends at Team Epiphany transformed the space for the performance, surrounding guests in flickering red light, Nike swooshes, and V's, creating a high-octane environment encouraging guests to dance, party, and aspire to get their own pair. Check out what Vogue had to say about it here!

MOTRIN | WEST VILLAGE

Motrin inspired attendees of their #WomanInProgress panel discussion last week, part of the larger #SheSummit. A distinguished panel, including Tracee Ellis Ross, Vivian Odior, Gabby Bernstein, Jessamyn Stanley, Ana Flores and Tali Sharot, shared personal stories about the hardships and triumphs they faced becoming a successful woman in today's world. They challenged those listening to focus on "the journey" and to "never stop moving forward," even when the going gets tough. We were awed by their poise and purpose and grateful to have had the opportunity to provide the perfect West Village venue for this event.

FLYING SOLO | THE GARAGE

New York Fashion Week strutted its way into The Garage for the Flying Solo fashion presentation. A culmination of different designers' tastes and visions, the show created an innovative portrayal of unity. The independent designers found the more they came together and supported and celebrated each other's talent, the more they can make an impact. The show consisted of beautiful clothes, bold stands, and a bright future in fashion.

MIXING IT UP

DJ JACQUES LAVOISIER + THOMAS DOLBY

This is your brain on... music? You are invited to dive deep into a discussion with neuroscientist Jacques Lavoisier and legendary musician, and honorary Johns Hopkins Professor, Thomas Dolby as they explore a dialogue about when the brain, music, and technology intersect.

Building upon a laser-focused career in behavioral sciences and neurotechnologies, Jacques has created a name for himself as a world-renowned neuroscientist by day and a globe-trotting DJ by night. As our resident scientist + artist, Jacques leads the charge on how we can use music and technology to improve our brain function.

Jacques offers a new channel for artists to express themselves and create a different form of art, by connecting their brains to instruments, either physical tools or digital canvases, to artistically capture their brain waves to illustrate how they feel and project themselves during creative expression.

Jacques and famed musician Thomas Dolby, are coming together for the upcoming Brainwave 2017 event at the Rubin Museum of Art on March 4th. During the evening, the two innovators will create an interactive experience that allows guests to explore their mind, as it listens to music, through a brain sensory headset.

Tickets are limited. Don't miss out and grab yours today here
