JORDAN BRAND | TERMINAL 23

Terminal 23 hosted an event for Jordan Brand for their newly released Air Jordan XXX. Guests arrived and changed into flight suits and Jordan's. Then they were treated to a special shoe customization session with Jordan and Krink Markers. Each pair of shoes were marked into one-of-a-kind creations and no two pairs left the venue alike. Our friends at Team Epiphany produced the event.

MIXING IT UP
MICK | JORDAN BRAND'S ALL-STAR WEEK
Our resident sneaker head MICK DJ'ed at 306 Yonge, Jordan Brand's All-Star pop-up retail space in Toronto. The retail space was an homage to the brand's 30 year anniversary, displaying 30 Air Jordan models in black and white. There was also a display of Jordan's most coveted new releases for guest to gawk over.

We caught up with MICK who said, "It was an amazing-looking store that was perfect to celebrate the 30th year of an iconic brand."

GILLIAN SAGANSKY | LOUIS VUITTON
This week Gillian Sagansky played an in-store event for Louis Vuitton at their Fifth Avenue location in New York City. Gillian, the latest addition to our talent roster, provided the perfect shopping soundtrack for guests as they perused the fine leather goods.

Gillian changed up the pace with another in-store event with fitness brand Bandier, hosted with Serene Social, during Fashion Week.  She provided a zen soundtrack for the event during a Vinyasa Yoga class.

SPOTLIGHT PROFILE

Toni Short |Founder & Chief Experience Officer, Shortlist Agency

Tell us about your company's origins?
I have been fortunate enough to work with some fabulous people, companies and brands over the years across three continents, having said that, the timing felt right to channel all of that experience and connections into my own company that would not only keep me working with great brands and people but bring further opportunities to work with more than one brand at a time.  It was a perfect storm!

How has the events industry evolved since you began?
Shorter time frames and tighter budgets, but there is a silver lining in those types of changes and that is creativity!  We are seeing things today that no one would have tried to pull off years ago, let alone be so successful.  It’s a great time to be in this industry and I am constantly inspired by the exciting and talented work of others, and ensuing collaborative opportunities.

How is your company differentiated from others?
We see ourselves as an extension of the client’s team.  Giving them not only more hours in the day but extra pairs of hands and legs where they need them most.  We make strong efforts to work closely with the client to free them up from the day-to-day minutia so they can really focus and shine in their role, with their team and in all of their responsibilities.

We know that we are unique as a team, so we look to identify the client’s unique beliefs, values and goals for their event and focus on how together we can achieve the best results keeping all that in mind.

What is the most exciting thing about today's experiential landscape?
Really anything is possible.  The fact that anyone can host an event pretty much anywhere at any time.  There are so many companies that are game changers or disrupters coming along and doing activations.  It’s no longer just the traditional companies or major players getting in the game and really turning the needle with their audiences (and in turn changing the event landscape).

What are the three most important things every event must have?
A trusted leader that can share and direct their vision, a great team and plenty of (good) booze!

What motivates your work life daily?
Trust, timing and balance.  These three little words are pretty much my mantra everywhere I go.  They come into play when you are working with your team, clients, projects, friends and family and they constantly help with the blurring lines of our work versus home life.

What is your passion outside of the office?
Hands down travel… Throw me off a train in a random place I will come back with four new friends, keys to visit their summer house in another country any time I want, incredible and personally curated gifts for everyone, memories of the best meal ever, photos galore and probably a pretty damn funny story to go with it…
