Carriage House at Waverly Place is an elegant statement venue in the heart of Greenwich Village. Constructed in 1826, the Carriage House was the former residence of notable playwright Lorraine Hansberry (A Raisin in the Sun) and a hub for artists and thought leaders in the 1960’s, including Nina SimoneJames BaldwinLena Horne, and Harry Belafonte. Later in the 1990’s, it was the home of Kate Moss and then fiancé Johnny Depp.

The Carriage House offers clients a quintessential upscale New York experience. Both corporate and and social event friendly, guests easily enter the 1,800 SF triplex through the main building and cross one of two private courtyards included in the rental. The Great Room features 25-ft high ceilings, a vaulted skylight and a working wood burning fire place. The recently renovatedkitchen is complete with a concealed Subzero refrigerator and full size wine coolergas rangeconvection oven, and finished with high-end Italian cabinets and fixtures. Thedownstairs Suite adds additional space for entertaining or for back of house, while the Loft is a dramatic overlook for a DJ or focal point.

Carriage House at Waverly Place is an elevated choice for a host of events looking for drama, sophistication and exclusivity. It can accommodate 75 guests for cocktails (with minimal furnishings) or up to 40 for a seated dinner on two levels.
