Michaelangelo L’Acqua is an internationally acclaimed music-branding specialist. His commitment to creating ground breaking, innovative solutions for his clients marks a successful career that is highlighted by unprecedented achievements in the realm of music for luxury brands. L’Acqua’s career began in 1999 when Tom Ford called on his talents to musically translate his design visions for Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent to the runways of Milan & Paris. That same year L’Acqua’s unique music abilities led to the creation of his boutique music branding agency, Onda, which specialized in original scores for runway shows, major recording label productions and bespoke music compositions for TV & film. Between 1999-2006, L’Acqua became one of the most sought after runway sound designers working with renowned fashion houses presenting their collections in Paris, Milan, Berlin and New York. Additionally Onda became an award winning TV music composition house working with the likes of BBDO, Y&R, Sacchi & Sacchi and Ogilvy & Mather as well as producing major label records for Sony & Universal. In 2006, Onda was dismantled and L’Acqua was requested by Natalie Cole to executive produce her father’s remix project “Nat King Cole, Re:Generations” released on EMI Records. Re:Generations featured will.I.am, Cee Lo Green, Nas, The Roots, Damian & Stephen Marley, TV On The Radio among several others amazing artists. Re:Generations was released in 2008 with critical acclaim. From 2009 to 2014, L’Acqua held the title of Global Music Director for W Hotel Group. In this capacity, L’Acqua developed a proprietary music platform that included music curation, live concerts & DJ festivals, music app development and album compilation series that clearly defined the sonic brand identity of W Hotel’s lifestyle as it expanded its global footprint from 29 hotels to their current 46. Over those six years L’Acqua fabricated the many musical touch points that has allowed W’s passion for music to become the most poignant way in which the brand inspires and engages it’s core audience. In 2015 L’Acqua left W Hotels to launch his music brand agency White Label Music. Servicing music strategy& brand development for Virgin Hotel Group, Morgans Hotel Group, St Regis, Swire Group, Spring Place,`amfAR “The Foundation for AIDS Research” and the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation. L’Acqua is also the executive producer of amfAR’s charity album “The Time Is Now”, an 80’s inspired covers compilation album to raise awareness and needed funds towards amfAR’s fight to end AIDS/HIV by 2020. Supporting artists on this album include; Mark Ronson, Scarlett Johansson, Aloe Blacc, Dita Von Tease, Phantogram, Theophilus London, Metric among many more. This album is due out September 2016 under Universal Republic Records.
